Product Description

Marshall's Arsenal Replica Dummy M26A1 is a faithful M26A1 “Lemon” replica. Molded as a two-piece reproduction (separable body and fuse — glueable for a permanent fit), this piece captures the look and scale of the original while remaining safe, lightweight, and practical for display.

This replica features:

  • Solid colored resin body with a closed bottom for a clean, authentic silhouette.

  • Correct-style M204A1 fuse (removable), threaded 5/8-11" so many later M26 and M67 style fuses are compatible.

  • Refurbished correct metal spoon stamped with correct top data and a metal pull-ring pin for visual accuracy.

  • NO “confidence” or jungle-clip wire slot (true to the specified configuration).

  • Option: purchase with or without body data markings. We also offer an “Aged” finish that shows tasteful wear and patina for museum or period appearances.

Specs & handling:

  • Weight (complete): ~8 oz — lightweight but realistic in hand.

  • Not intended or safe to be thrown at reenactments — for display, costume, props, and safe handling only.

Perfect for costume designers, professional reenactors, prop houses, film & TV, cosplay, and museum displays where the original is unavailable, restricted, too heavy, or impractical. Affordable, durable, and historically respectful — these replicas look great on straps, belts, pouches, adapters, or as part of any

Historical Background

The M26 fragmentation hand grenade was developed in the late 1940s–early 1950s to replace the World War II–era Mk 2 “pineapple” grenade. Entering service around 1952, the M26 quickly became the U.S. military’s standard fragmentation grenade during the Korean War. Its smooth, oval—or “lemon” —shape earned it the enduring nickname “Lemon.” Filled with Composition B, the M26 offered a more stable and effective explosive fill than the flaked or granular TNT used in earlier designs.

The M26 remained the primary U.S. fragmentation grenade through the Vietnam War until it was superseded by the M67 “baseball” grenade in 1968. Although largely replaced in frontline service, the M26 and its variants saw extended use for decades and still appear in limited roles and surplus inventories. Its design marked an important step toward safer, more reliable infantry ordnance in the post-war era.
