Product Description

This accurate, museum-quality reproduction of the WWII M1 Garand Ammo Bandoleer can be purchased empty with cardboard inserts or assembled with six replica dummy ammo fillers and en bloc clips, each housed in correctly styled cardboard inserts for an authentic period presentation. Designed for serious reenactors, collectors, and museum displays, this bandoleer provides the look and feel of the original without the cost or legal restrictions of live ammunition.

Bandoleer:
Constructed from heavy cotton khaki fabric, the bandoleer features a custom-made 1¼″ cotton herringbone twill web strap and the proper 2″ black safety pin — used by soldiers to secure the strap to their jacket to prevent it from slipping during movement. Every detail has been faithfully reproduced, including the correct weave, strap style, and hardware, and intentionally left without ink markings for a clean, authentic field appearance.

Replica Dummy Ammo:
Each replica filler is molded from original .30-06 rounds in solid brass-colored resin to replicate the metallic sheen of real cartridges. The rounds are fitted into genuine en bloc clips and placed in accurate cardboard sleeves, completing the historically correct loadout.

Authentic in every visible detail, this reproduction is ideal for WWII field gear impressions, museum displays, and educational exhibits — a durable and affordable way to preserve and present history as it appeared on the battlefield.

Historical Background

During World War II, the M1 Garand bandoleer was a standard issue ammunition carrier used by U.S. infantrymen to hold .30-06 cartridges preloaded in eight-round en bloc clips for the M1 Garand rifle. Each cotton bandoleer typically carried six pockets, each containing one clip — a total of 48 rounds. The bandoleer was lightweight, disposable, and designed for quick reloading in the field.

Soldiers often slung it over their shoulder or pinned the strap to their jacket with a safety pin to keep it from slipping during movement. Early versions were produced in khaki cotton, later replaced by olive drab fabric as the war progressed. Simple, practical, and efficient, the M1 Garand bandoleer became an iconic part of the American soldier’s combat load throughout WWII and into the Korean War.
